Preworkshop: Membrane Technology Academy
Preworkshop: Membrane Technology Academy
The 1st IWA Membrane Technology Academy (IWA MTA) will be held as a pre-conference workshop of the IWA MTC 2025, designed for water professionals, including students and researchers, who wish to explore current and emerging topics in membrane technology for the water sector. The Academy will feature lectures by world-renowned scholars, aiming to provide both training and networking opportunities—not only for IWA MTC attendees but also for anyone interested in this field. This inaugural IWA MTA will focus on the following key themes:
(1) Novel membrane materials and advancements
(2) Desalination technologies
(3) Electrochemical membrane technologies
(4) Fouling mechanisms and control strategies
In addition to classroom-based theoretical lectures, participants will join a field trip to the Korea Water Cluster—a world-class research hub housing large-scale demonstration plants and customized pilot facilities operated by individual companies—to gain practical and realistic insights.
The two-day program will consist of 16 lectures and 4 coursework assessments. Outstanding participants will be recognized with awards and certificates. Students are especially encouraged to take part in this engaging and informative academy.
